Nurse Practitioner: Diabetes & Nutrition Center

MaineGeneral Medical Center is seeking an APRN Nurse Practitioner for a full-time, salaried position at the Specialty Center in Augusta, Maine that supports our Diabetes and Nutrition Center. Minimum of 3 years of experience required, and must be certified as a Diabetes Educator. You must have a Maine Family Nurse Practitioner license in good standing. In August 2011, we broke ground for a new, state-of-the-art, 192-bed regional hospital that will consolidate inpatient hospital services in Augusta and Waterville. The $312 million project is the largest hospital project ever undertaken in Maine and is scheduled to open in winter 2014. A year later, a $10 million renovation to the Thayer Campus in Waterville will be complete which will maintain 24/7 emergency services and provide a comprehensive array of outpatient services. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville, ME has a full-time opportunity to provide psychiatric care to clients and patients of MGMC, primarily at our 30-bed Inpatient unit, additionally you will have opportunity to work in the outpatient setting. You will work closely with our Psychiatrists and our other PMHNP to ensure quality psychiatric and detoxification treatment services are delivered to our clients with mental illness and or substance abuse disorders. You will also need to provide consults to our Emergency Departments in both Augusta and Waterville. You may also be called upon to provide consults to the med-surg units as well. Minimum of at least 2 years experience working with the severely mentally ill as a RN or PMHNP is required. We will consider the exceptional new graduate. Experience and training in co-occurring mental health and substance abuse concerns is required. Southern Maine mental health group seeks a psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to treat ages 5-18 years old! 

 

Description of Position:

Outpatient, Children. Monday through Friday (or Mon-Thurs) flexible schedule. 40 hours a week.  No call/no weekends.  12-14 Patients per day.  Group has 5 Psychiatrist (3 child), 7 PMHNP’s

Provide assessment and treatment of clients, including:  psychiatric evaluation, treatment planning, client education, writing of prescriptions, medication management.  The NP/PA/CNS generally works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and has an important role working with staff to develop an overall successful treatment plan that addresses both medical/psychiatric issues and other issues.  The NP/PA/CNS is responsible for maintaining an awareness of the overall medical condition of the client and will generally be responsible for determining how best to coordinate with other medical professionals and services to best meet the needs of the client.  

 

Benefits:

One to two years of experience are required. Current BCLS Certification required; Current ACLS Certification preferred. Basic computer knowledge is necessary.
