Clinical care responsibilities include: 1).Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients during office visit. 2).Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan. 3).Orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures and tests. 4).Consults with, refers to and/or collaborates with volunteer and community providers and staff in managing care of Oasis patients. 5).Provides support to the dental clinic with medical advice and prescription assistance to stabilize a dental emergency until the patient can be seen by a dental provider. 6).Provides monitoring and continuity of care of patients between visits. 7).Reviews labs/images/referrals for all patients. 8).Processes medication refill requests for all patients, including dispensing medications onsite. 9).Assists volunteer providers with clinical care, as needed. 10).Recommends community resources to meet patient needs. 11).Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation when necessary. Clinical operation responsibilities include: 1).Screens, orients and oversees medical and student volunteers. 2).Manages Oasis dispensary, including assessing and procuring inventory. 3).Provides signoff for Community Prescription Assistance Program medications for Oasis patients. 4).Provides oversight of clinical and dental volunteer provider schedules. 5).Provides oversight of medical data entry. 6).Participates in the Board of Directors Quality Committee. 7).Participates in evaluation of current practice and standards of care. 8).Identifies and reports issues which affect patient care and quality outcomes. 9).Maintains patient confidentiality. 10).Demonstrates professional behavior, treats patients, staff and providers with respect. 11).Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
